Job Description
We are looking for a Head Baker to join our fast-growing specialized bakery team at Pekoe Tea & Bread Bar in Al Quoz, Dubai, UAE to support our retail, dine-in, catering and wholesale operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in bakery. Candidates without this experience will not be considered so please only apply if you have bakery experience. Only candidates within UAE will be considered. Please indicate salary requirements and your preferred start date in your submissions. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Create and develop new recipes for baked goods, ensuring innovation and uniqueness.
- Oversee the entire baking process, ensuring the quality and consistency of products.
- Lead and manage a team of bakers, providing guidance and support to achieve production goals.
- Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in all baked goods.
- Manage and monitor inventory levels for ingredients and supplies, ensuring adequate stock.
- Train and develop baking staff, ensuring they adhere to proper techniques and safety guidelines.
- Plan and organize daily production schedules to meet customer demand.
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of baking equipment.
- Monitor and manage production costs, working to optimize efficiency without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff, management, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure that the bakery complies with health and safety regulations.
- Interact with customers to understand preferences and feedback, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the bakery menu.
- Fulfill customer orders and requests, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and ingredient innovations.
- Maintain effective communication within the bakery team and with other relevant departments.
- Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the baking process.
- Ensure that the bakery adheres to company standards and brand consistency.
- Diploma / Certification in Culinary or equivalent or experience in lieu
- 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a Head Baker at a bakery or a in luxury hotel as a Head Baker in the Bakery section
- Experience specifically with Sourdough breads and Viennoiserie
- Passionate about the art of baking and ability to bring ideas and handle issues
- Desire to learn, contribute and grow with the brand
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills and strong leadership skills. This position will require daily communication and hand off to the next shift for smooth operation and to meet the brand\xe2\x80\x99s high-quality standards.
- Flexible to work in different shifts (Early morning, daytime or night shift)
