Job Overview:

The Head Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance with UAE regulations. The role involves supervising a team of accountants and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review. Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support strategic business decisions. Ensure compliance with local tax laws, VAT filings, and other regulatory requirements in the UAE. Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes. Reconcile bank statements, monitor cash flows, and manage company assets. Coordinate internal and external audits, providing required documentation and resolving queries. Implement and maintain effective internal financial controls. Review, approve, and monitor payments, receipts, and payroll transactions. Advise management on cost reduction opportunities, profitability, and financial risks. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and government regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or CMA certification preferred). Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of UAE financial regulations, VAT, and IFRS standards. Proficiency in accounting software (such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho, or SAP) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
