The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and operating the hazardous waste systems in a nuclear power plant or nuclear project. Mobilisation: ASAP Job Summary: Seeking an experienced Hazardous Waste Operator to work in the nuclear sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and operating the hazardous waste systems in a nuclear power plant or nuclear project. They will be responsible for the proper handling, treatment, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with all applicable regulations and company policies. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate hazardous waste systems, including waste water treatment systems and waste storage tanks, pumps, and piping
- Monitor and record waste levels, flow rates, and treatment processes
- Operate and maintain equipment and tools, including personal protective equipment (PPE), in a safe and effective manner
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies for hazardous waste management and disposal
- Work collaboratively with other members of the hazardous waste management team, including engineers and radiation protection technicians, to ensure safe and effective waste management practices
- Participate in training programs and maintain knowledge of hazardous waste management regulations and best practices
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in hazardous waste management in a nuclear power plant or nuclear project
- Experience operating and maintaining hazardous waste systems, including waste water treatment systems and waste storage tanks, pumps, and piping
- Experience with hazardous waste management and disposal regulations and practices
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a focus on safety and compliance
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate\'s or Bachelor\'s degree in a related field preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, as required by the position
