Hawk Armament Technician Grade: 8 Location: Tabuk, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The job holder is responsible for carrying out maintenance production in support of O&AT weapons sortie generation on Hawk and the delivery of on the job training (OJT) in support of SNTTP. They will ensure that all resources are available and serviceable to support the demands of the flying operation, thus ensuring delivery of serviceable aircraft to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments. You will provide support to the Training Aircraft Generation Flight (TAGF) to ensure delivery of serviceable aircraft to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments. Ensuring the procedural compliance governing Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration cycles support equipment maintenance cycles, and the Tool Control system. Complying with processes that ensure all maintenance is carried out using the correct Technical Data; Instruction Manuals are verified upon the receipt of changes or revisions; and Locally Developed Publications (LDP) are devised and reviewed to maintain maintenance capability. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Work Direction: In this role the job holder will report to the following: RSAF Policies and procedures Armament Supervisors/Superintendent Maintenance Operation Centre Decision-Making Authority: The job holder may be required to make decisions on the following: Any issues regarding safety when loading, unloading and making safe of munitions. Role equipment serviceability after trouble shooting and fault diagnosis. Planning / Organising: The job holder may be required to: Lead a small team and plan loading or maintenance tasks Stand in for the supervisor during periods of absence Subordinates: In order to support Vision 2030 for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to meet BAE Systems Saudisation targets, technicians shall utilise their trade knowledge and skills and act as a leader and mentor in the training and education of trainees in a multicultural environment. May be allocated one or more SNTTP trainees for OJT (On the Job) Training Report Preparation: The job holder may on occasions be expected to assist with technical reports and provide accurate information and data for reports on weapons stoppages and hang-ups. Statistics: Must be able to accurately keep account of Munition expenditures and maintain Stock checks of Munitions held. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential This post holder must be a graduate of a service technical training institute or a BAE Systems company approved training scheme or an EASA Cat B1/B2 licence or GACA equivalent. Relevant type training ('Q' Course) and equipment specific training if required. Extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP). Demonstrate knowledge / understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering. Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role. Relevant equipment specific training. Desirable Broad Aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge. An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures. Experience of GOLDespand TrilogiView desirable. Preferably have experience of the fitting and removal of Ejection seats and associated equipment.
