Hard Services Specialist, Administration and Facilities
Job Purpose:
Hard Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising the work of employees in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment and is also responsible for maintaining electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems.
Operational Responsibilities:
Supervise the performance of service contractors to ensure they provide the expected service as mentioned in the contract.
Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
Coordinate with Maintainance Help Desk to resolve routine maintaiance duties and supervise and follow-up on day to day maintenance activities based on helpdesk requests.
Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work and create work assignments for the staff who perform maintainance functions.
Oversee maintainance of Building automation systems heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and coordinate corrective maintainance/reactive repair work.
Coordinate installation, inspection, repair and maintainance of the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems in all campus locations.
Work towards operating and testing systems and equipment, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
Carry out periodic testing and inspections for work equipment, elecrical appliances, electrical wiring, lightining conductors, emergency lighting and fire protection systems.
Ensure that campus fire alarms and emergency electrical systems are operational at all times.
Supervise the work of maintenance employees during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)and inspect work for completeness.
Evaluate functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by coordinating with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.
Inspect the work in progress for quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications and maintenance budget .
Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.
Manage the certification of invoices, issue of PR, Call-off and Service Entry in system and deal with problems arising in connection with the execution of Purchase Orders/works contracts, etc.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
Adhere to the University\'s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly
Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provide coaching, guidance and mentoring as required to enhance the internal capabilities of the team and ensure the achievement of established objectives and plans
Recommend appropriate training courses as per the pre-determined training needs, evaluate their effectiveness, and monitor their results
Carry out performance appraisals for subordinates according to planned schedules and recommend necessary actions as per the applied practices
Conduct periodic meetings with subordinates to ensure that priorities are clear and workflow is running smoothly
Follow-up on employees\' administrative affairs such as vacations, leaves and other administrative and related affairs
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor\'s Degree in the related field.
Required Experience
For UAE Nationals: A minimum 3-5 years relevant experience
For Expats: A minimum 7-9 years of relevant experience
