Overview

We are seeking a skilled Gypsum Carpenter to join our fit-out team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction, including drywall installation, finishing, and related tasks. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects within the restoration, remodelling, and new construction industries. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely on active job sites. Prior experience with blueprint reading, heavy lifting, and working with power tools is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Install and finish drywall (gypsum board) accurately according to project specifications Perform framing, including metal stud framing and wood framing as needed Apply finishing techniques such as taping, mudding, sanding, and caulking for smooth surfaces Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation Fabricate and install various fixtures including doors, cabinets, and moldings Assist with stucco application, siding installation, and other exterior finishes Utilize hand tools and power tools safely for cutting, shaping, and installing materials Conduct repairs related to water damage restoration or mold remediation projects Assist in concrete forming, masonry work, or roofing tasks when required Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites

Requirements

Proven experience in construction estimating, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, or related fields Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and schematics reading Knowledge of plastering, caulking, stucco application, siding installation, and fixture hanging Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks regularly Experience with metal stud framing, drywall installation, flooring or tile laying is preferred Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematic interpretation for accurate project execution Background in restoration industry work or remodeling projects is a plus Strong understanding of safety procedures on construction sites Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments including manufacturing or restoration settings Valid experience in plumbing, electrical work, masonry or CNC fabrication is advantageous but not required
