The Gypsum Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing gypsum boards, partitions, false ceilings, and related structures. The role involves measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing gypsum materials in line with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Measure, cut, shape, and install gypsum boards, ceilings, partitions, and wall panels.
Assemble frameworks and supports for gypsum board installations.
Perform jointing, taping, and finishing for a smooth surface.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Ensure proper alignment and leveling during installation.
Repair and maintain existing gypsum structures as needed.
Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other tradesmen to ensure project completion on schedule.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a Gypsum Carpenter or in a similar role.
Knowledge of gypsum boards, drywall systems, and false ceiling installation techniques.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and measurements accurately.
Familiarity with carpentry tools, equipment, and materials.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Physical stamina and ability to work at heights or in tight spaces if required.
Work Environment:
Construction sites, commercial buildings, residential projects, and renovation worksites.
May require overtime or weekend shifts depending on project deadlines.
