Key Responsibilities: 1. Measure, cut, and install gypsum panels to create interior walls, ceilings, and partitions according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications. 2. Apply adhesive, screws, or nails to secure gypsum panels to framing or existing surfaces, ensuring proper alignment and support. 3. Tape and finish joints between gypsum panels using drywall compound, tape, and finishing tools to create smooth, seamless surfaces. 4. Skim coat and texture gypsum surfaces as needed to achieve the desired appearance and texture, including applying texture sprays or hand-texturing techniques. 5. Repair damaged or deteriorated gypsum surfaces by removing and replacing damaged panels, patching holes, and blending repairs with surrounding surfaces. 6. Install and finish corner beads, trim, and other decorative or functional elements to enhance the appearance and durability of gypsum installations. 7. Sand, scrape, and smooth gypsum surfaces to prepare them for painting, wallpapering, or other finishing treatments. 8. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications, making any necessary adjustments or corrections as needed. 9. Maintain clean and organized work areas, including properly disposing of waste materials and cleaning tools and equipment. 10. Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to relevant safety regulations. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry, drywall installation, or a related field preferred. - Proven experience as a Gypsum Carpenter or Drywall Installer, with demonstrated proficiency in gypsum panel installation, finishing, and repair techniques. - Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and methods used in gypsum carpentry, including measuring, cutting, and fastening techniques. - Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and safety standards applicable to gypsum construction projects. - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately execute gypsum installation projects. - Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship, with the ability to produce high-quality workmanship and finishes. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues related to gypsum installation and finishing. - Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment. - Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces. - Valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation may be required for travel to job sites.
