The 26-floor hotel has a curved design which represents the shape of a breaking wave and offers pristine private beaches with undisturbed views of the Arabian Gulf.

About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for Concierge Agent to join the Concierge team at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The main purpose of the role is to provide the highest level of service to all guests and handle any requests for services and facilities to the standards required and be fully trained and knowledgeable of all Front Office functions.

The main responsibilities are:
  • To ensure that all guest requests, requirements and complaints are attended to promptly and acted in the correct manner.
  • To have a thorough and up-to-date knowledge about the activities in and around town and to establish business contacts for follow up on guest requests.
  • To place emphasis on and sell in-house restaurants, facilities and other destinations.
  • To book seats for guests in restaurants requested and arrange all other requests (transportation etc.)
  • To reconfirm guest flights and leave confirmation messages to guest.
  • To check and be familiar with the arrival list, VIP list and departure list on a daily basis.
  • To ensure that the Concierge desk, Mail room and store room are all kept neat and in an orderly manner at all times.
  • To report and log guest comments ensuring complaints are resolved as soon as possible.
Operational
  • To comply with the requirements of the Executive Offices delivery of documents and messages.
  • To send the lost and found items to Security.
  • To monitor the telephone message printer and ensure that messages are distributed every 20 minutes.
  • Attend briefings and meetings as requested.
  • To ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the guest services and information services.
  • To ensure that all guest messages/mail/telexes/parcels are handled and distributed within 20 minutes of receipt.
  • To forward mail as requested by the guests and maintain a record.
  • To handle unclaimed mail and arrange to have it returned periodically.
  • To ensure that an up-to-date extensive selection of booklets, guides, maps and brochures is available and maintained at all times.
  • To ensure that stamps are available at all times and are affixed in the presence of the guest.
  • To ensure that the desk is sufficiently manned at all times.
  • To make airline reservations/re-confirmations/re-endorsement and purchase tickets from the hotel\'s authorised Travel Agent.
  • To ensure that the newspapers are delivered to guest floors by 06:00 hours daily.
  • To page guests in the lobby when required.
  • To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the industry, company or hotel.
  • To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capacity as assigned, including re-deployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
  • To be aware of all hotel facilities and the layout of the hotel.
  • To report any unusual incidents/accidents to management
  • To ensure hotel credit policies are adhered to.
  • To assist in internal departmental accounting procedures, review financial results on a monthly basis.
  • To ensure newspapers and other guest supplies are ordered in accordance with guest requirements and occupancy levels.
  • To assist in the preparation of invoices for the credit controller.
  • To assist in any financial matter as directed by the Head Concierge / Concierge Manager
Financial
  • To ensure hotel credit policies are adhered to.

Other Duties
  • Is fully aware of his/ her work schedule and ensures adequate notice is given with circumstances when he/ she is prevented from adhering to the schedule.
  • Reports any incidents, complaints, suspicious persons or safety hazards immediately.
  • Ensure strict control is adhered to when receiving and returning keys and whilst in his/ her possession.
  • To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform / attire, name badge, maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.
  • To provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
  • To maintain good working relationships with all colleagues and other departments.
  • To ensure you read the hotel\'s employee handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel\'s rules and regulations, and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
  • To comply with the local legislation as required.
  • To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the industry, company or hotel.
  • To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/ areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
  • To attend training and meetings as and when required.
  • To assist in maximizing productivity for the Department
About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
  • Previous Luxury Hospitality experience in a customer service role
  • Excellent technical and communication skills, both in person and by telephone.
  • Knowledge of Opera Version 5 and/or Opera Cloud
  • Ability to learn multiple computer software and accurately input information into the systems.
  • MS Office applications (Level of Expertise - Intermediate)
  • Excellent reading, writing & oral proficiency in the English language.
