The Global Network Banking (\xe2\x80\x9cGNB\xe2\x80\x9d) Cluster Head for GCC & Iraq is responsible for the strategic direction of the business, encompassing people management, strategic client management, liaison with other areas of the bank to ensure superior customer service and solution development and implementation, and ensuring adherence to all legal, regulatory, compliance, risk and other policy standards. GNB manages subsidiaries of our multinational clients across BCMA and CCB. This Cluster consists of 3 Presence Countries and 4 Hub Managed Countries and has 20+ team members. This role reports to the GNB MENAPT Head with a matrix to the UAE CCO.

Responsibilities:
  • Formulating and executing coverage strategy / business plan for clients managed in the unit including account planning, calling strategy, and customer segmentation.
  • Management / Leadership of the GNB UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait team that is comprised of GNB Relationship Managers and Relationship Associates
  • Develop both professional and personal relationships to solidify relationships with clients
  • Ensuring that the GNB team builds strong relationships at all critical levels (e.g. Treasurer, CFO, CEO) with client portfolios
  • Understand regional and emerging market trends to identify growth opportunities, anticipate obstacles and communicate a forward-looking vision that is responsive to changes in the environment
  • Direct responsibility of managing and acquiring all local GNB relevant clients and elevating the presence of Citi and GNB within the country through disciplined and encouraging the outside Citi network to focus on your country.
  • Responsible for overall subsidiary relationship management of clients and providing a wide range of treasury and corporate finance solutions, including cash management, trade, vendor finance, FX, general credit, loans
  • Strong product knowledge and analytical ability.
  • Translate Citi\xe2\x80\x99s strategy into an effective and efficient Global Network Banking business plan and drive a healthy balance between near-term and long-term priorities
  • Responsible for meeting revenue goals and other goals related to budget, risk management, and credit allocation in partnership with Global Capital Management (GCM) and Risk
  • Working closely with internal partners to develop innovative solutions to meet specific client needs.
  • Drive innovation, differentiation, speed to market and promote cross selling of products across the full ICG platform
  • Ensure client relationships and proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards, including stringent ethical standards and anticipated future changes in the marketplace
  • To understand and manage effectively Citi\xe2\x80\x99s capabilities to increase and maximize the share of wallet and market share. Originating new opportunities for cross-sell and safeguard existing client business To develop opportunities of marketing and executing deals using a coordinated approach with relevant product partners
  • To understand the dynamics of the local financial markets, banking industry and regulatory environment
  • To know your competition and be able to provide critical input to win transactions
  • Managing client\xe2\x80\x99s expectations and effectively engaging in difficult discussions with clients
  • Analysing performance results \xe2\x80\x93 interpreting and adapting strategy to optimise services and financial performance
  • Achieving trusted advisor status through developing close working relationships with customers.
  • Raise Citi\xe2\x80\x99s profile with key customer seniors by interpreting macro-economic developments and industry trends.
  • Raise GNB\xe2\x80\x99s profile within Citi by building key cross-functional and cross-geographic networks
  • Credit senior of the team with in depth knowledge of credit policies and responsible for credit decisions approving credits for customer base. Fully accountable for credit spectrum which includes documentation, target market identification, due diligence and early problem recognition.
  • Increase market share and share of wallet for the portfolio.
  • Be aware of competitive landscape and formulating strategic responses to geopolitical conditions
  • Review / evaluate new business opportunities from a TM and effort / risk reward perspective.
  • Be conversant with customer pricing models, risk, capacity planning
  • Ensure Compliance and KYC policies adhered to for customer base
  • Understand and effectively manage Citi\xe2\x80\x99s global capacities and complexities; sound credit management;regulatory and compliance
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in people management

  • Excellent business development and relationship management skills
  • Senior Credit Officer is not required but considered a plus
  • In-depth experience advising clients on debt and capital management
  • Demonstrated ability to balance between internal management and external client time
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements (global and local)
  • Proven leadership skills and intellectual capability to create momentum and a collective agenda across multiple products with a diverse population and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated intellectual grasp of the industry and ability to anticipate and lead the organizational response to future changes and translate vision into executable plans
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
  • Bachelor\'s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master\'s/MBA degree preferred from a top economics, business, or financial engineering program
