POSITION SUMMARY :
This position has the responsibility and accountability for the following major functions:
  • North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia Project Finance
  • North America, South America, European, Middle East and Asia Financing and Capital Markets (Project Bonds)
  • Global Interest Rate Risk Management
  • Global Currency Risk Management
  • Global Trade Finance (Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees)
Other significant areas of responsibility include staff development, financial transaction approval, financial risk management strategy development, bank relationship management, and related audit and Sarbanes Oxley compliance. In addition, responsibility for the company\xe2\x80\x99s $2.75 billion Syndicated Credit Facility is shared with this position. Finally, the incumbent\xe2\x80\x99s organization serves as one of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s center of excellence on risk management using financial derivatives.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Debt Funding and Debt Portfolio Management These responsibilities require a thorough understanding of the global debt and project finance markets, the risks the Company is willing to take in accomplishing its borrowing and interest rate management needs, the debt funding and debt management instruments available to the Company, the accounting, tax and legal ramifications of each instrument and the form of agreements acceptable to the Company. Specific accountabilities are:
  • Development and assuring compliance with the Company\xe2\x80\x99s internal Debt Portfolio Management policy.
  • Development, recommendation and execution of funding and interest rate management strategies, including financing decisions relating to the issuance of project finance debt (timing, maturity, fixed or floating, currency, etc.).
  • Assurance of the availability of debt liquidity via the negotiation and maintenance of a committed credit facility to back up commercial paper issuance and be accessible in the event of a liquidity crisis.
  • Identifying and securing project financing opportunities for the Company.
  • Financial and operational evaluation of leasing alternatives and structuring of leases.
  • Negotiation of external documentation.
Management responsibility for the consolidated interest incurred and interest income forecasts and analyses. These forecasts and analyses are used in the development of financing plan and net income projections and in evaluating historic results. An awareness of past and projected cash flows, a complete understanding of the debt portfolio and an ability to communicate results in a clear and concise manner are required.
Currency Risk Management These responsibilities require a thorough understanding of the global currency markets, the risks the Company is willing to take in accomplishing its currency risk management needs, the currency management instruments available to the Company, the accounting, tax and legal ramifications of each instrument and the form of agreements acceptable to the Company.

Letters of Credit/Bank Guarantees
  • Help manage the issuance of Standby Letters of Credit/Bank Guarantees, including Bid, Advance Payment, Performance and Warranty Guarantees, Corporate Guarantees, Documentary Letters of Credit, and Letters of Comfort.
This requires a strong understanding of these types of instruments, as well as the associated product supply and sale of equipment contracts. It also requires a good understanding of the reimbursement agreements between Air Products and the Issuing Bank.
Staff Management and Development Responsible for managing and developing a staff of a few Treasury professionals. The significant financial risk of the tasks performed requires complete functional training and a full understanding of policies and controls by all personnel. The time critical nature of the tasks make it imperative that adequate cross training and back-up plans be developed. A balance must be struck between developing and maintaining the Treasury expertise required to effectively perform these jobs and actions to broaden a person\xe2\x80\x99s skills to allow for continued opportunities and advancement within the Company.

Other Major Accountabilities
  • Manages Company\xe2\x80\x99s global banking relationships to assure open communication, consistency in expectations and to assure that the Company\xe2\x80\x99s banking business is allocated in a way that is in the Company\xe2\x80\x99s best interest and allows the necessary access to credit and other critical banking services.
  • Coordinating the global Treasury Sarbanes Oxley compliance program.
  • Development and maintenance of Treasury Business Continuity Plan for Project Financing
  • Review, evaluate discounted cash flow models for above-segment level projects often involving multiple products and business models. Cash flows often include multiple currencies, unique tax and accounting treatments, structuring (SOE and SOG components, JV partners, etc.), and project financing
  • Assist with managing AP\xe2\x80\x99s Finance Plan used to simulate AP\xe2\x80\x99s credit rating metrics
  • Manage team members who will be responsible for reverse engineering existing internal and external tools and analysis to build improved and simplified tools for analysis
  • Assist with managing team members who will be responsible for acquisition analyses
  • Interact with senior cross functional AP employees and external parties including banks, JV partners, and customers
  • Support commercial teams in developing contracts to achieve investment economics
  • Supporting interactions with Ratings Agencies
  • Provide support for various Ad Hoc requests and analysis.
  • Leading negotiations with banks, export credit agencies, DFIs and other financial institutions and their advisors on commercial and documentation matters
  • Providing support to corporate finance transactions including raising equity bridge loans
  • Supporting the due diligence process including interfacing with lenders as well as lenders advisors on key due diligence matter
Qualifications:
  • MBA required (with Business Decision Support experience preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Previous cash flow analysis experience
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Flexibility to work unique hours depending on global project needs
  • Ability and enthusiasm to self-educate by engaging across multiple functions and geographies
  • Some travel (less than 10-20% of time in a year
