Job Summary

We are seeking a Safety Engineer to join the This Company Loss Prevention organization (LP), which is the corporate safety organization within This Company. We provide both day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to This Company operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting function. Our field offices are located in Abqaiq, Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Udhailiyah, Jeddah (including Yanbu and Jazan), and Tanajib. Through these offices, LP provides its services to all This Company facilities and departments that are located throughout the Kingdom. Your primary role as a Safety Engineer (Loss Prevention Engineer) is to provide daily support to company facilities and departments, helping them effectively implement the This Company Safety Management System (Occupational & Process Safety) expectations and associated programs, as well as assuring compliance to all company safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitates the implementation of the This Company Safety Management System, ensuring alignment with objectives and expectations.
• Develops associated safety processes and participates in self-assessments to evaluate effectiveness.
• Conducts field inspections and reviews to assess compliance with company and international codes and standards, identifying safety concerns and formulating practical and cost-effective corrective actions.
• Identifies, evaluates, and recommends actions related to critical safety tasks and control methodologies, such as work at height, isolation/LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), permit to work, hydrogen sulfide, confined space entry, and excavations.
• Participates in safety studies and activities using risk assessment and mitigation methodologies, including PHAs (Process Hazard Analysis), HAZOPs (Hazard and Operability Studies), JSAs (Job Safety Analysis), incident investigations, compliance reviews, and insurance surveys.
• Provides technical assistance and advice in emergency situations and incidents, even outside regular working hours.
• Engages in contractor safety management activities, including contractor selection and prequalification, monitoring work site compliance, and measuring performance.
• Supports incident reporting, classification, and investigation processes, determining root causes, and providing recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Delivers Loss Prevention-specific training to employees, contractors, and external parties.
• Mentors other Loss Prevention personnel, providing guidance and support.

Requirements:

• This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
• Holds a Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an Accredited Institution.
• Has at least seven years of experience as a safety professional in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries.
• Demonstrates a strong track record of delivering results in the field of safety.
• Possesses comprehensive experience in both occupational and process safety.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate with peers and members of management.
• Capable of producing clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
