Job Summary

We are seeking a Safety Advisor to join the Loss Prevention organization (LP), which is the corporate safety organization within the company. We provide both day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to This Company operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting function. Our field offices are located in Abqaiq, Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Udhailiyah, Jeddah (including "Yanbu and Jazan), and Tanajib. Through these offices, LP provides its services to all This Company facilities and departments that are located throughout the Kingdom. Your primary role as a Safety Advisor (Loss Prevention Advisor) is to provide daily support to company facilities and departments, helping them effectively implement the This company Safety Management System expectations and associated programs, as well as assuring compliance to all company safety requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the implementation of the This Company Safety Management System, ensuring alignment with its objectives and expectations. Develop associated safety processes and actively participate in self-assessments.
  • Conduct thorough field inspections and reviews to assess adherence to company and international codes and standards. Identify safety concerns, devise solutions, and formulate practical and cost-effective corrective actions.
  • Identify, assess, recommend actions, and ensure follow-up on critical safety tasks and control methodologies tied to operational safety practices. These practices encompass areas such as work at height, isolation/LOTO, permit to work, hydrogen sulfide, confined space entry, and excavations.
  • Engage in safety studies/activities utilizing risk assessment and mitigation methodologies such as PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, and insurance surveys.
  • Respond to emergency situations and incidents, whether during regular working hours or after, offering technical assistance and guidance.
  • Contribute to worksite contractor safety management activities, encompassing aspects like contractor selection, prequalification, monitoring of work site compliance, and performance evaluation.
  • Support the reporting, classification, and investigation of all incidents. Actively engage in incident investigations, determining root causes, and providing suitable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver specialized Loss Prevention-specific training to employees, contractors, and external parties.
  • Assume a mentoring role, providing guidance and knowledge transfer to fellow LP personnel.
Requirements:
  • This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Hold a BA/BS degree from an Accredited Institution and possess seven years of experience within areas of the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries.
  • Demonstrate expertise in various domains such as operations and maintenance, plant engineering, construction, turnaround and inspection, safety program development, process safety, and audits/assessments.
  • Alternatively, showcase fifteen years of relevant industry experience in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related sectors, demonstrating a strong track record of delivering results in the aforementioned areas, even without a degree.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with peers and members of management.
  • Proficiency in producing clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
