This is a strategic role designed to enhance our compliance infrastructure and ensure smooth and lawful cross-border logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage international logistics and customs processes for goods subject to regulatory controls
Classify goods under the appropriate
Harmonized System (HS) or Schedule B codes
Ensure adherence to local and international
trade compliance regulations
Liaise with global freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams
Review shipping documentation to ensure compliance with international trade laws
Monitor changes in import/export regulations and provide strategic guidance
Assist in managing bonded warehouse, free trade zone (FTZ), or special trade programs
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics and compliance
Required Qualifications:
5+ years
of experience in international logistics or trade compliance
Working knowledge of
HS code classification
,
customs regulations
, and
incoterms
Experience handling regulated or sensitive goods within compliant frameworks
Strong understanding of country-specific import/export laws (e.g., U.S., EU, Asia-Pacific)
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
Familiarity with
ERP systems
(SAP, Odoo) or compliance platforms (e.g., SAP GTS)
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in trade compliance (e.g.,
CTCS, CCS, or equivalent
)
Experience with
tobacco, alcohol, chemicals, or controlled substances logistics
Knowledge of
IATA, IMDG
, or other dangerous goods transportation standards
Experience working with government agencies such as
CBP, FDA, or REACH
