The Geothermal Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of geothermal energy systems. This includes exploration, drilling, reservoir engineering, power plant design, and system optimization to support renewable energy generation and sustainable heating/cooling solutions. The role requires strong technical expertise, project management, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams
Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and resource evaluations for geothermal projects.
Design and oversee geothermal drilling, well completion, and reservoir stimulation operations.
Model geothermal reservoirs and predict performance using specialized software.
Develop and optimize surface facilities including heat exchangers, power plants, and district heating systems.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, health & safety standards, and permitting requirements.
Collaborate with geologists, drilling engineers, and energy specialists to maximize resource efficiency.
Perform thermodynamic and fluid flow analyses for geothermal systems.
Lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and quality assurance for geothermal projects.
Provide technical input on procurement, contractor management, and equipment selection.
Monitor operational performance and implement improvements in efficiency and sustainability.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for stakeholders.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geothermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
5-10 years of experience in geothermal projects, energy systems, or subsurface engineering.
Strong knowledge of geothermal exploration, drilling, and reservoir management.
Proficiency in geothermal simulation and modeling tools (e.g., TOUGH2, PETRASIM, CMG).
Experience with thermodynamic and heat transfer calculations.
Understanding of renewable energy systems and integration with power grids.
Excellent problem-solving, project management, and team leadership skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Preferred Certifications (Optional):
Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent license.
Renewable Energy or Geothermal-specific certifications.
PMP (Project Management Professional) for project-focused roles
