Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled

Geotechnical Data & Documentation Specialist

to support our geotechnical and geophysical projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, verifying, and organizing geotechnical data, preparing technical documentation, and supporting engineers in delivering accurate and compliant reports for infrastructure and construction projects.

This role requires strong skills in geotechnical data handling, GIS tools, documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

1. Geotechnical Data Management

Manage, process, and validate geotechnical borehole, soil, and rock data using

gINT

and related software. Prepare and update borehole logs, soil profiles, and subsurface interpretation sheets. Ensure accuracy and consistency between field data, laboratory results, and final reports. Maintain organized databases for geotechnical investigations and laboratory testing results.

2. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare, format, and review geotechnical and geophysical reports in line with project requirements and authority standards. Support senior engineers in compiling technical reports, appendices, and drawings. Maintain document control, version tracking, and structured filing of all project deliverables. Assist in preparing submissions for clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

3. CAD & Technical Drawings

Assist in preparing and reviewing AutoCAD drawings related to borehole locations, profiles, cross-sections, and layouts. Ensure drawings are accurate, well-coordinated, and aligned with field and laboratory data.

4. GIS & Spatial Data Management

Perform GIS-based data processing using

ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS

, and Google Earth Pro. Digitize and analyze spatial data such as land use, site boundaries, road networks, and infrastructure layouts. Support geotechnical and environmental studies through accurate spatial mapping and analysis.

5. Quality Control & Compliance

Review incoming data from field teams and laboratories to ensure completeness and technical accuracy. Identify discrepancies and coordinate corrections with relevant teams. Ensure reports comply with project specifications, client requirements, and local authority standards.

6. Coordination & Project Support

Liaise with engineers, site teams, laboratories, and project managers to ensure smooth data flow and timely submissions. Support responses to technical comments, revisions, and clarifications from consultants or authorities. Assist in maintaining project schedules related to documentation deliverables.

7. Additional Technical Support

Assist in groundwater and environmental data analysis where required. Support interpretation of geological conditions, soil stratigraphy, and subsurface characteristics. Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation workflows and data management systems.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in

Geology, Applied Geology,

2-4 years of experience in geotechnical data management, documentation, or GIS-related roles. Experience working with geotechnical or engineering consultancies is preferred.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in

gINT

,

AutoCAD

,

ArcGIS / QGIS

, and

MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

. Strong understanding of geotechnical investigation processes and reporting. Ability to interpret borehole logs, lab results, and geotechnical drawings.

Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Clear communication and documentation skills.
