Generator Technician/supervisor
Job Description
Supervise daily maintenance and operation of standby and prime generators.
Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
Monitor fuel consumption, oil levels, and system performance.
Troubleshoot faults in electrical and mechanical components of generators.
Ensure compliance with HSE policies and manufacturer guidelines.
Assign and supervise tasks for generator technicians.
Maintain logs of runtime hours, servicing, and repairs.
Coordinate with engineers, facility managers, and vendors for major repairs.
Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns and power outages.
Prepare daily/weekly reports on generator status and maintenance activities.
Desired Skills & Experience
Required Skills
Diploma/Certification in Electrical/Mechanical or Generator Maintenance.
Strong knowledge of diesel and gas generator systems.
Hands-on troubleshooting and repair expertise.
Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
Familiarity with control panels, ATS, and synchronization systems.
Preventive maintenance planning and execution.
Team leadership and supervision skills.
Good knowledge of HSE requirements.
Strong reporting and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
Qatar Driving license - Manual preferred
