General Manager - Operations

We are now seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead our operations in Ras Al Khaimah to new heights.
Position Summary
We are looking for a seasoned General Manager - Operations to provide strategic leadership and oversee all aspects of our manufacturing operations in RAK. This is a pivotal role for a hands-on leader who will be responsible for driving production efficiency, ensuring financial health, fostering a culture of excellence, and executing the company's strategic vision. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with a proven track record in the packaging manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Management:

• Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and goals to drive business growth and profitability.
• Lead the strategic planning process for the manufacturing facility, aligning operational objectives with the company's global vision.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for expansion and improvement.

2. Operational Excellence & Manufacturing:

• Provide hands-on leadership and oversight for all Paper and Plastic Bag manufacturing processes.
• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery goals are consistently met or exceeded.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and lower operational costs.
• Oversee maintenance, engineering, and supply chain/logistics to ensure a seamless end-to-end operation.

3. Financial Management & P&L Accountability:

• Hold full responsibility for the plant's Profit & Loss (P&L), including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Analyze financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs) to make data-driven decisions.
• Implement robust financial controls and reporting mechanisms to ensure fiscal discipline.

4. Team Leadership & People Development:

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a large, diverse team of managers, engineers, and production staff.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Identify training needs and develop talent to build a strong succession pipeline.

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Negotiation:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, suppliers, and senior corporate leadership.
• Utilize excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and partners.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with all stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Essential: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or Master's degree is highly preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role as a General Manager, Plant Director, or similar senior executive position.
• Industry Expertise: Hands-on, proven experience in Paper or Plastic Bag manufacturing is non-negotiable. Deep understanding of the relevant machinery, processes, and raw materials is critical.
• Financial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in P&L management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Leadership Skills: A proven track record of leading and developing large, cross-functional teams.
