General Cashier/Receiving Clerk

What will you be doing:
General Cashier:
  • Collection of remittance envelopes from front office, opening of envelopes with Security as witness, balancing of cash with corresponding envelopes, preparation of bank deposit slips \xe2\x80\x93 to be done on daily basis (working days).
  • Deposit cash/cheques in bank, record cashier\'s deposits on General Cashier summary on daily basis (working days).
  • Compare foreign exchange rates with quotations from 2 exchange houses, once a week.
  • Spot check of cash floats issued to Hotel cashiers. Make sure that 100 % cash count should be completed once a month
  • Update foreign exchange rates with Income auditor for F/O, F/B outlets as and when required. Minimum frequency once a week.
  • Provide necessary change to FO Cashiers and outlets.
  • Closing of cash and preparation of house bank count sheet on daily basis.
  • Verify house bank cash floats with vacation / headcount listing once a month.
  • Petty Cash disbursement. Prepare petty cash claim on daily basis.
  • Maintain up to date filing and arrange to keep the GC office neat and tidy at all times.
  • To issue cheques to suppliers
  • To keep updated logbook for "post dated cheques" and "return cheque" and ensure that all the entries should be approved by DOF on daily basis.

Receiving Clerk:
  • To receive all the Deliveries as per the LPO / Order Form / Contract.
  • Daily update Dubai Municipality Book (Fo Meat Item).
  • Call the fruit, vegetable fresh meat, fish & poultry items. Item should be check in front of Chef and to get the Chef approval on the Invoice.
  • During the office hours Receiving agent should not leave the office, if in case receiving clerk need to leave the office he should inform Storekeeper to attend the receiving office in his behalf.
  • Ensure that no material should be kept on the floor / left unattended.
  • The time of receiving fixed asset item, respective department head should be called for approval.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing Dept / Cost Control and Stores.
  • To keep the receiving area clean and tidy.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:
  • Accounting degree / Vocational diploma in Hospitality/ Graduate in other discipline
  • Computer literate (Windows environment, PMS, Opera, Tars) and an aptitude for new technologies
  • Languages: fluent in the national language, English and a 3rd language would be a plus
