ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED. A new healthcare facility is seeking a specialized candidate for the role of Gastroenterologist - Specialist/Senior Specialist/Consultant. Job Purpose: Specializes in treatment, management and investigation of stomach, intestine and hepatology (liver, gallbladder, biliary tree and pancreas) diseases. Responsibilities include treating, investigating and managing conditions like IBD, IBS and gastrointestinal cancers. Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients and reviews basic information on medical history, allergies, and lifestyle.
• Inquire about current symptoms and reasons for the visit.
• Diagnose patients using specialized equipment such as endoscopies or conduct more complex investigations, like small bowel endoscopy and colonoscopy.
• Analyze diagnostic tests to arrive at a conclusive diagnosis.
• Educate patients about available treatments and adverse effects.
• Perform surgical procedures like liver biopsies, insertion of IV feeding lines and helping with the planning and aftercare of a liver transplant.
• Prescribe medications, as needed, and make lifestyle recommendations to boost patient\xe2\x80\x99s healing process.
• Monitor the effectiveness of treatments during follow-up visits.
• Provide surgical assistance and consultation to medical doctors and general practitioners.
• Attend gastroenterologist conferences and seminars to learn about new medical techniques and topics.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD).
• Must have completed residency training, specializing in Gastroenterology.
• In-depth knowledge in performing endoscopic and colonoscopy procedures.
• Proficiency with X-Rays, MRIs, and ultrasound scanning.
