Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Garage Mechanic who can handle both mechanical repair and maintenance work along with basic accounting and record-keeping responsibilities. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and a good understanding of workshop expenses, parts inventory, and cost tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Duties:

Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of vehicles and equipment. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and engine issues accurately. Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure all vehicles meet safety standards. Maintain records of services performed, parts replaced, and mechanical issues identified. Coordinate with suppliers for spare parts and ensure timely procurement. Ensure tools, equipment, and workshop area are properly maintained.

Accounts & Administrative Duties:

Record daily workshop expenses, parts purchases, and service income. Assist in preparing maintenance cost reports and monthly expense summaries. Maintain inventory records for parts and consumables. Handle petty cash and prepare basic financial entries for the accountant's review. Support in budget tracking for vehicle maintenance and repair. Coordinate with accounts or finance department for bill submissions, supplier payments, and job costing.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Garage / Workshop Mechanic (minimum 3-5 years). Basic knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, or cost tracking. Ability to manage workshop inventory and records. Technical certification in Automotive Mechanics or equivalent. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or basic accounting software preferred. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Valid driving license preferred.
