Job Title: Furniture Carpenter Location: Umm Al Quwain, United Arab Emirates : We are seeking a skilled Furniture Carpenter to join our team in Umm Al Quwain. As a Furniture Carpenter, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality furniture pieces according to specifications and customer preferences. This position requires a keen eye for detail, precision in measurements, and proficiency in various woodworking techniques. Responsibilities: 1. Interpret and follow blueprints, sketches, and design specifications to create furniture pieces. 2. Select appropriate materials, such as wood, hardware, and finishes, based on project requirements. 3. Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood components accurately. 4. Measure, cut, and install trim, molding, and hardware to complete furniture pieces. 5. Inspect finished products for quality and ensure they meet design standards and customer expectations. 6. Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects. 7. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage of tools and materials. 8. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. 9. Provide guidance and assistance to apprentices and junior carpenters as needed. 10. Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and materials to enhance skills and knowledge. Requirements: 1. Proven experience as a furniture carpenter or similar role. 2. Proficiency in woodworking tools and machinery, including saws, sanders, drills, and routers. 3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings. 4. Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and cuts. 5. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. 6. Creativity and problem-solving skills to tackle complex design challenges. 7. Physical stamina and strength to lift and maneuver heavy materials and equipment. 8. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 9. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements. 10. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to woodworking. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Vocational training or certification in carpentry or woodworking. 2. Previous experience working in a furniture manufacturing or custom woodworking shop. 3. Familiarity with a variety of wood species and their characteristics. 4. Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating and modifying furniture designs.
