Pure Essence operates in the luxury home decor and fine jewellery segments. We are looking to hire a highly skilled Full Stack Developer to take full responsibility for the maintenance and implementation of both functional and attractive designs of both our core brands. The ideal candidate will be young, enthusiastic and mature. Candidates must be fully well versed in both back-end and front-end development and must have wide experience with the implementation of plug-ins, site integration and security updates. Further, the ideal individual for this role will take lead in managing the brand's SEO marketing strategy, and provide all technical expertise and support where needed. The individual will support and work closely alongside the sales and marketing departments. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work alongside the team to improve website design, function and user experience regularly

• Designing the front-end of both websites

• Managing the website back-end including database and server integration

• Conducting website performance tests & providing actionable insights and implementing strategies to generate improvements

• Troubleshoot content issues

• Monitor performance of live websites

• Improve the brands' rankings in search engines & improve website visibility and speed - optimizing for first-page rankings

• Implement and administer search engine programs (XML sitemaps, webmaster tools etc.)

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming or any related sciences

• At least 4 years of relevant work experience as a full-stack developer
• Proficiency using WordPress (ACF, WPForms, custom post types and taxonomies) and/or another relevant CMS, plugin development & site integration experience is a must

• Knowledge of code versioning tools including Git and SVN.

• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, JavaScript, JSON

• Ability to write API Code using PHP frameworks

• Experience using debugging tools such as Firebug and Chrome Inspector

• Experience delivering fully-responsive "mobile first" websites - portfolio submission is imperative.

• AMP knowledge and development experience preferred.

• Familiarity with MySQL

• Knowledge of developing with SEO best practices in mind

• Strong understanding of front-end and back-end website development

• WooCommerce development

• Leadership experience is a bonus

• App development is valuable, but not a dealbreaker.

• Female candidates will be given preference
• Hardware management skills are valuable
• Prior experience in jewellery /home decor will be a valuable addition.
