We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic FS2 Teacher to provide high-quality education and care for our young learners. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating engaging, child-centered learning environments that promote development across all seven areas of the EYFS framework. This role is exclusively for educators with prior, hands-on experience teaching in an FS2 or equivalent (UK Reception class) setting.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering a rich, play-based curriculum that meets the individual needs of each child, fostering their social, emotional, physical, and academic growth during this crucial foundational year.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Delivery:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated learning experiences that align with the EYFS framework.
  • Create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and independent learning.
  • Implement a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities within continuous provision.
Assessment and Tracking:
  • Conduct ongoing formative observations and assessments to monitor each child's progress and development.
  • Accurately track and report on individual achievements using designated systems (e.g., Tapestry online journal).
  • Complete summative assessments, including the completion of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP).
Pastoral Care and Relationships:
  • Build strong, nurturing, and positive relationships with all children, supporting their emotional well-being and personal development.
  • Work in close partnership with parents and carers, providing regular feedback and fostering a strong home-school link.
  • Collaborate effectively with Teaching Assistants and other EYFS team members.
Professional Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a well-organized, resource-rich, and inviting learning space.
  • Ensure all safeguarding and welfare policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development training, and school events.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • A certified teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., Level 5/6 EYTS, or equivalent with QTS).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent, hands-on experience as an FS2 or UK Reception Class teacher.
  • In-depth knowledge and proven experience in implementing the EYFS statutory framework.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning for and creating enabling environments and continuous provision.
  • Proven track record of effective assessment practices within the EYFS, including a strong understanding of the Early Learning Goals (ELGs).
The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
  • Passionate about early childhood education and child development.
  • Creative and energetic, with the ability to make learning fun and engaging.
  • An excellent communicator, able to build rapport with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Highly reflective and committed to their own professional growth.
  • Organized, flexible, and a proactive team player.
