Job Description

  • Food Preparation:
  • Prepare chicken portions for frying, including cleaning, cutting, and marinating as necessary.
  • Season and coat chicken with spices, breading, or batter to enhance flavor and texture.
  • Ensure the proper storage and handling of raw chicken to maintain food safety standards.
  • Frying Expertise:
  • Operate and maintain deep fryers and other cooking equipment.
  • Monitor oil temperature and quality to ensure consistent and safe frying.
  • Achieve the desired level of crispiness and doneness for each batch of fried chicken.
  • Recipe Development:
  • Develop and refine recipes for various fried chicken dishes, considering different flavor profiles and seasonings.
  • Experiment with new techniques and ingredients to create unique and appealing fried chicken variations.
  • Quality Control:
  • Maintain high-quality standards for fried chicken, ensuring it meets the restaurant\'s taste and presentation expectations.
  • Inspect the appearance, taste, and texture of fried chicken before serving to customers.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of chicken and frying ingredients.
  • Place orders for supplies and ingredients as needed to maintain stock levels.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene:
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handwashing, equipment cleaning, and sanitization.
  • Implement safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries in the kitchen.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with kitchen staff and chefs to coordinate the preparation and timing of fried chicken dishes with other menu items.
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure orders are prepared and served correctly.
  • Menu Expansion:
  • Collaborate with the restaurant management team to expand the fried chicken menu and introduce new offerings.
  • Participate in menu planning and tasting sessions to provide input on new dishes.
  • Cleanliness and Organization:
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Follow sanitation guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Fried Chicken Chef or a similar role in a professional kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of frying techniques, seasonings, and breading.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Creativity and the ability to develop unique fried chicken recipes.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
