Freelance HSE Officer (Fire Proofing Works - 1 Month Contract)

Role Overview:

We are looking for a qualified and dedicated

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer

to oversee safety compliance on our

fire proofing project sites

. This short-term role (1 month) requires someone with strong knowledge of UAE safety standards and hands-on experience in managing HSE protocols in specialized construction activities such as fire proofing and coating works.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures specific to

fire proofing operations

. Conduct daily site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards related to

spray application, handling of materials, confined spaces, and working at height

. Ensure safe storage, mixing, and application of fire proofing materials as per manufacturer and safety guidelines. Provide safety induction and toolbox talks to site workers, applicators, and subcontractors. Monitor use of PPE, ventilation, and fire safety equipment during fire proofing activities. Investigate any incidents/near-misses, prepare reports, and recommend preventive measures. Collaborate with project engineers to integrate safety controls into project execution. Maintain documentation of safety inspections, training, and compliance records.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years' experience as an HSE Officer in

construction, coatings, or fire proofing works

.

NEBOSH International General Certificate

or equivalent certification is mandatory. Valid UAE driving license and access to own vehicle. Strong knowledge of UAE safety regulations, especially those related to hazardous materials and confined space works. Proficiency in English, Hindi, and Malayalam (Arabic is an advantage). Excellent communication, reporting, and team coordination skills.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with safety risks in

intumescent/cementitious fire proofing

. Ability to conduct site training, safety drills, and toolbox talks. Strong observation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
