Job Description

The Qode is looking for a dynamic Freelance Event Designer who will be responsible for the overall activities such as idea generation, creating the final design of the event, determining the best production process, managing the event and the production process. coordinating and execution of events. Will work closely with clients to understand their objectives, goals and needs and develop and implement a plan accordingly that will ensure the event is successful. This role entails developing ideas for the event, overseeing functions and supervising the production of the event. Desired Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop the event's theme, music, catering, setting and overall design, including the decoration and entertainment
  • Prepare and oversee the event's budget and making sure it is carried out with the proposed budget.
  • Understanding and meeting the clients' needs, requirements and preferences
  • Creating floor plans and models of the event venue showing the placement of the elements
  • Preparing contracts and other legal documents for events
  • Coordinating with event manager, coordinators, planners and other event team members to ensure smooth functioning
  • Managing all the activities from start to finish such as hiring staff, ordering supplies and arranging entertainment services to make the event memorable.
  • Overseeing and supervising all production aspects of an event
  • Creation of ideas and concepts that would make the event memorable and successful
  • Inspection to secure the venue and check all the equipment are running smoothly before the commencement of the event.
  • Responsible for finding and negotiating with the appropriate vendors and suppliers and hiring the right production team who will ensure the event is a success.
  • Estimate costs and prepare budget for the event and ensuring the entire event has been carried out with the proposed budget.
  • Coordinating and assigning tasks to the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned and needed
  • Analyze the event's success and prepare reports
Requirements & Attributes:
  • Bachelors' degree in hospitality, event management or related field.
  • Minimum 3-4 years relevant experience in event designing, event management, planning and promotions.
  • Positive attitude / strong work ethic
  • Go-getter / top-notch negotiation abilities to achieve great deals
  • Team Player and reliable to lead the team if the need arises.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel to different events location as needed
  • Flexible with the working hours to ensure all aspects are running smoothly
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English & Arabic
  • Strong client facing and teamwork skills
  • Ability to remain calm while dealing with last-minute changes and unexpected turn of events
  • Knowledge of the GCC markets with key insights into the luxury sector is an advantage.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent decision-making skills with attention to details even under pressure
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP Software.
