Job Overview:
As a Freelance Draftsman, you will be responsible for developing detailed architectural and technical drawings used for permit submissions, construction execution, and design coordination. You'll translate conceptual layouts and brand guidelines into fully documented drawings that meet code, functional requirements, and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed architectural floor plans, elevations, and sections for new and existing restaurant locations.
• Translate conceptual sketches, mood boards, and verbal instructions into precise technical drawings.
• Collaborate with kitchen designers, MEP engineers, and interior designers to ensure spatial and technical integration.
• Develop construction documents and drawing sets for permitting and contractor execution.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, ADA standards, health department regulations, and fire safety requirements.
• Create and maintain standardized CAD blocks and drawing templates aligned with brand guidelines.
• Conduct revisions promptly based on feedback from internal stakeholders, consultants, or local authorities.
• Coordinate closely with the project manager to align drawing submissions with construction schedules.
• Annotate and dimension drawings clearly for use by contractors, inspectors, and construction crews.
• Perform occasional site visits (if required) to validate as-built measurements and update plans accordingly.
• Participate in internal design meetings to provide insight on constructability or documentation constraints.
• Submit final drawing packages in multiple formats (DWG, PDF, Revit, etc.) as required by project standards.

Other Duties
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the company from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the organization.
Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Architecture, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience drafting for commercial or food-service environments.
• Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit, SketchUp, or BIM tools are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of architectural detailing, building systems, and code compliance.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects with varying timelines.
