Freelance Back-End Web Developer (Long-Term)
PHP | WordPress | Cloudflare | GoDaddy / Hostinger / Cloudways
We're looking for a meticulous back-end developer to keep our portfolio of WordPress sites fast, secure, and fully backed up--on a predictable twice-weekly schedule.
What you'll do
Performance optimisation
Tune PHP, caching layers, and Cloudflare rules to meet Core Web Vitals targets.
Security hardening
Enforce best-practice file permissions, WAF policies, and malware scans; patch vulnerabilities promptly.
Maintenance & updates
Keep WP core, themes, and plugins current; stage changes before pushing live.
Back-up & disaster recovery
Verify and test automated backups across GoDaddy, Hostinger, and Cloudways.
Schedule & commitment
Day Hours
Wednesday 2 hrs
Sunday 2 hrs
Total: 4 hours per week (split as above)
Long-term contract; additional ad-hoc hours for urgent issues are welcome (paid separately).
You'll check each site during those windows, produce a quick report, and remediate any issues found.
Tech stack you must know
PHP 8.x, WP-CLI, Composer, SSH
WordPress (single & multisite)
Cloudflare (DNS, APO, WAF, page rules)
Hosting panels: GoDaddy cPanel, Hostinger hPanel, Cloudways
Basic MySQL tuning, Git workflow, SSL management
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate or monthly retainer--tell us your expectation.
Payments on the first business day of each month.
