Job Description

Receives fabrication drawings, schedules and bill of materials, checks for correctness and completeness of the materials' Understands fabrication drawings and sequence, explains to fabricators' Supervises fabrication crew' Arranges for stage and final inspection of fabricated items as required' Analyses jobs to be performed and selects necessary tools and equipment required in performing the job' Prepares work schedules of all related activities to ensure smooth operation of the task/project' Assigns manpower and equipment in accordance with priorities' Assists in actual fabrication and welding work by setting up and using oxygen/acetylene cutting equipment on various carbon steel plate and pipes, to include connecting regulator, torch and gas cylinder. Adjusting gas pressure to required levels. Uses oxygen/acetylene portable profile and orbital pipe cutting machines as necessary Conducts periodic (i.e., monthly, quarterly) inventory of all fabrication related equipment/materials; lists down materials and equipment required for ordering/purchasing' Prepares reports. Ensures time cards of subordinates are prepared, entries are correct and submits for approval. Carries out other similar or related duties as required, Ensures that all fabrication related equipment are available and in a safe and working order' Ensures all activities carried out by subordinates are performed in accordance with Company or client's safety rules; men working are wearing protective clothing and using required safety equipment. Assuring subordinates working are wearing proper protective clothing and using approved tools and equipment. Carries out other duties as required as assigned by immediate supervisor. Adheres to Company policies, procedures, Government laws, Rules & Regulations and work requirements. Analyzes jobs to be performed and ensures the correct tools and equipment are available. Maintains satisfactory standards of housekeeping in his area of responsibility during and at job completion. Provides inputs to subordinates' performance appraisals. Recommends disciplinary action. Ensures awareness on legal and other applicable requirements Ensures awareness on identification of hazard and aspect in the workplace and determining controls Support the availability of resources essential to establish, implement, maintain and improve the Integrated Management System (OHSAS 18001:2007 & ISO 14001:2004) and ISO 9001:2008 (Health Safety, environment & Quality) within his area of responsibility.
