The Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily site activities to ensure that construction works are completed safely, on schedule, and according to drawings and quality standards. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and effective communication with site teams and engineers.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Site Supervision
Plan, organize, and supervise daily construction activities.
Assign tasks to workers and ensure productivity and workmanship meet project requirements.
Monitor progress and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and instructions.
Resolve on-site issues and report major concerns to the Site Engineer.
B. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with Site Engineers for work sequences, inspections, and approvals.
Communicate job requirements clearly to workers.
Liaise with subcontractors, material suppliers, and equipment operators.
Attend daily site meetings and provide progress updates.
C. Quality Control
Ensure work is carried out as per project specifications and QA/QC standards.
Verify alignment, levels, dimensions, and structural details before concrete works.
Inspect work before requesting consultant or client inspections.
Report quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
D. Safety Management
Enforce all HSE rules, PPE requirements, and permit-to-work procedures.
Conduct toolbox talks with workers and promote safe working practices.
Stop unsafe work immediately and report incidents to the HSE Officer.
Ensure proper housekeeping and safe access/routes on site.
E. Resource & Manpower Management
Manage manpower allocation based on site needs and project schedule.
Ensure availability of materials, tools, and equipment for daily work.
Prevent wastage of materials and misuse of company resources.
Coordinate with the storekeeper for material requests and deliveries.
F. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily progress reports, manpower records, and site diaries.
Submit reports to the Site Engineer or Project Manager.
Assist with preparation of as-built data and inspection forms.
Record attendance and discipline issues of workers.
3. Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in construction projects (civil/infrastructure).
Experience supervising teams of masons, carpenters, steel fixers, and laborers.
Previous experience in UAE/GCC construction projects is preferred.
Skills
Strong leadership and supervision skills.
Ability to read and understand drawings and project specifications.
Knowledge of concrete works, blockwork, finishing, rebar, and formwork.
Good communication skills (basic English required).
Ability to coordinate manpower and manage workloads efficiently.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in site conditions.
Physically fit to walk, climb scaffolds, and oversee multiple work areas.
