The Automotive Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service department. This role includes supervising automotive technicians, ensuring quality control, coordinating repair schedules, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring that customer vehicles are serviced efficiently and correctly. The foreman serves as a technical expert, mentor, and team leader, ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of all service technicians.
Allocate work orders and ensure efficient workflow in the shop.
Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues; provide guidance to technicians on challenging repairs.
Review completed work for quality assurance and adherence to safety standards.
Assist with recruiting, training, and mentoring new technicians.
Monitor productivity, efficiency, and performance metrics of the service team.
Maintain proper documentation for repair orders, timekeeping, and warranty claims.
Communicate with service advisors and management regarding job status, timelines, and any delays or additional work required.
Enforce compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications:
5+ years of automotive repair experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
ASE certifications and/or OEM training certifications strongly preferred.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with shop management software and repair databases (e.g., Mitchell1, ALLDATA, CDK).
