About the Role
We are seeking a highly vigilant and experienced Food Safety & Hygiene Officer to ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained at our facility in Habshan. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all procedures related to HACCP, food safety, and workplace safety to safeguard the health of our employees and clients. This is a critical role requiring immediate joining.
Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation & Monitoring: Enforce strict adherence to HACCP principles, company food safety policies, and local health regulations (Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority).
  • Inspections & Audits: Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of all kitchen areas, storage facilities, equipment, and service areas to identify and rectify any potential hygiene or safety hazards.
  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all relevant food safety standards (e.g., ISO 22000, FSMS) and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Training: Develop and deliver effective food safety and hygiene training programs for all kitchen and service staff to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inspections, audits, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
  • Incident Management: Lead investigations into any food safety incidents, customer complaints, or cases of foodborne illness, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Supplier & Stock Control: Monitor incoming raw materials for quality and safety; ensure proper FIFO (First-In, First-Out) stock rotation and correct storage temperatures are maintained.
  • Pest Control: Liaise with pest control contractors and monitor the effectiveness of pest control measures.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on food safety and hygiene performance to the Management team.
Requirements
  • Gender: Male (as per the client's requirement for this location).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in a dedicated Food Safety & Hygiene role.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in the catering industry, large-scale food production, or a camp facility is a significant advantage.
  • Certification:
  • Mandatory: Level 3 Food Safety Certification (HACCP).
  • Mandatory: Valid NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international food safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000), hygiene practices, and occupational health and safety principles.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report generation.
