Job Description
Job Summary:
The Food Runner is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables promptly and accurately. They ensure that dishes are correctly prepared, plated, and presented according to restaurant standards. Food Runners also assist servers and kitchen staff in maintaining a smooth dining experience by communicating orders, checking for accuracy, and supporting overall restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the correct tables in a timely manner.
- Verify order accuracy (correct dish, modifications, and presentation) before serving.
- Assist servers and kitchen staff in coordinating food delivery during peak hours.
- Ensure proper garnishing and presentation of dishes before serving.
- Communicate with servers, chefs, and managers regarding order issues or special requests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen expo area and dining sections.
- Assist in clearing tables, refilling beverages, and supporting bussers as needed.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering basic questions about menu items.
- Help with side work, including stocking utensils, napkins, and condiments.
