Responsible for assisting the front-of-house team in delivering food orders from the kitchen to guests' tables promptly and accurately. Work closely with servers, and kitchen staff to ensure that all food items are delivered with care and attention to detail, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities
1. Retrieve food orders from the kitchen and deliver them to the appropriate tables in a timely manner, ensuring that each dish is presented professionally and according to the guests' preferences.
2. Communicate effectively with the kitchen to coordinate the timing of food delivery and ensure that all orders are accurate and complete.
3. Assist in setting up dining tables before service, including arranging table settings, flatware, and glassware, and ensuring that tables are clean and properly set.
4. Monitor tables throughout the meal service, clearing empty plates and utensils, refilling water glasses, and attending to any additional requests from guests.
5. Greet guests warmly upon food delivery, ensuring that they have everything they need for an enjoyable dining experience.
6. Respond promptly to any guest inquiries or requests, such as additional condiments, utensils, or dietary accommodations, and relay them to the appropriate server or kitchen staff.
7. Inspect food orders before delivery to ensure accuracy, presentation, and adherence to quality standards set by the restaurant.
8. Notify servers or kitchen staff of any discrepancies or issues with food orders, such as missing items or incorrect plating, to be addressed promptly.
9. Assist servers and other front-of-house staff as needed, including running drinks, clearing tables, and providing general support during busy service periods.
10. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of service, contributing to a positive dining experience for guests.
11. Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times, including proper handling of food, storage of utensils, and cleanliness of work areas.
12. Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, including bussing trays, wiping down surfaces, and disposing of trash and recycling properly.
13. Performs other duties assigned.
Qualification, Experience & Knowledge
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 to 2 years' experience in similar role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of food and beverage items, including menu descriptions, ingredients, and preparation methods.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift trays or carry trays of food and drinks.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
