Food Microbiologist

Position Overview
We are urgently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Microbiologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality through rigorous microbiological testing and analysis. This is a night-shift position, and we are looking for candidates who can start immediately.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of microbiological analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished food products.
• Conduct tests for pathogens (e.g., Salmonella, Listeria, E. coli), indicator organisms (e.g., Total Plate Count, Coliforms, Yeast & Mold), and spoilage microorganisms.
• Prepare media, reagents, and samples for analysis according to standardized procedures.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., autoclaves, incubators, microscopes, PCR).
• Accurately record, analyze, and interpret test data, and prepare detailed reports.
• Monitor the laboratory environment to ensure aseptic conditions are maintained.
• Ensure strict adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), company SOPs, and relevant food safety standards (such as UAE.S / GSO, ISO, HACCP).
• Investigate and troubleshoot any out-of-specification results and support root cause analysis.
• Assist in internal audits and maintain laboratory documentation for compliance.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience: A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in a food microbiology laboratory is mandatory.
• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
• Proven expertise in classical and modern microbiological techniques.
• Strong understanding of food safety systems (HACCP, ISO 22000).
• Proficiency in laboratory data management and documentation.
• Visa Status: Must be currently in the UAE on a visit visa or with a cancelled visa. Only candidates available for an immediate in-person interview and joining will be considered.
• Schedule: Must be willing and able to work 6 days a week on a permanent night shift.

Salary & Benefits

• Basic Salary: AED 3,500 per month (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications).
