The florist will create beautiful floral arrangements for various occasions, including weddings, birthdays, funerals, and corporate events. The role involves selecting flowers, designing bouquets, and consulting with customers to meet their needs and preferences. The florist will also manage inventory, care for flowers, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

:

Floral Design

: Design and create custom floral arrangements such as bouquets, wreaths, centerpieces, and corsages. Arrange flowers in visually appealing patterns using color, size, and shape combinations. Incorporate customer preferences and event themes into floral designs.

Customer Service

: Consult with clients to understand their floral needs and preferences for specific events or occasions. Offer guidance on flower selection, styles, and arrangement options. Handle customer inquiries and process orders both in-store and online.

Flower Care and Maintenance

: Select and purchase flowers, plants, and greenery from wholesalers or local suppliers. Trim, water, and care for flowers to keep them fresh and vibrant. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the flower shop.

Event Coordination

: Prepare floral arrangements for delivery and set up at events such as weddings, corporate events, and funerals. Ensure timely delivery and proper placement of floral pieces at venues. Collaborate with event planners to match floral arrangements with the event's theme and requirements.

Inventory Management

: Monitor stock levels of flowers, plants, and floral supplies. Place orders for fresh flowers, ribbons, vases, and other necessary supplies. Track seasonal flowers and manage perishable goods to reduce waste.

Sales and Marketing

: Promote floral designs and services through social media, online platforms, or local advertising. Develop and maintain relationships with customers to encourage repeat business. Suggest upselling opportunities such as gift baskets, greeting cards, and other complementary items.

Qualifications and Skills

:

Experience in floral design or relevant training (certifications in floral design are a plus). Strong creativity and artistic ability in creating floral arrangements. Knowledge of flower types, care techniques, and seasonality. Good interpersonal and communication skills to work with clients. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines for events. Physical stamina to handle long hours and lifting materials like buckets of water, flowers, and other supplies.

Work Environment

:

Florists typically work in retail shops, greenhouses, or event venues. Work hours may vary, especially during peak seasons like Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and weddings. Some weekend and holiday work is often required.
This job requires a blend of creativity, practical skills, and customer service. Florists also need to stay updated on trends in floral design and have an eye for detail to create stunning arrangements for various occasions.
