Supervise and coordinate all activities on the automotive shop floor.
Ensure smooth workflow across all stations (assembly, welding, painting, inspection, etc.).
Plan and allocate daily work to technicians/operators based on the production plan or service schedule.
Monitor progress to ensure work targets and quality standards are met.
Report daily production/service output, downtime, and delays to management.
2. Quality Control
Ensure all vehicles or components meet quality standards and specifications.
Conduct in-process inspections and oversee final quality checks.
Coordinate with the Quality Department to resolve any non-conformities.
Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring defects.
3. Manpower Management
Supervise technicians, operators, and helpers on the floor.
Ensure proper skill utilization and work allocation.
Monitor attendance, discipline, and performance of team members.
Provide on-the-job training and ensure adherence to safety and operational procedures.
4. Maintenance and Equipment Management
Ensure machines, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Maintain records of equipment servicing and downtime.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain production logs, service reports, and quality records.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly performance reports.
Ensure proper documentation of work orders, job cards, and inspection reports.
6. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Report any accidents or near-miss incidents promptly.
Ensure cleanliness and orderliness (5S implementation) on the floor.
7. Coordination & Communication
Liaise between production, quality, maintenance, and stores departments.
Communicate issues and improvement opportunities to higher management.
Support planning and logistics to ensure materials availability.
8. Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, TPM, etc.).
Suggest training or equipment upgrades where needed.
