Responsible to provide engineering support on various Ground Support Equipment (GSE), vehicle and non-motorized equipment in order to enhances the reliability of the fleet which is maintained by QAS Engineering workshop in terms of setting standards and monitoring the performance to improve the overall reliability of the QAS and QR subsidiaries ground support equipment, vehicle and non-motorized equipment. Responsible for the control of the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) build standards, equipment modifications and through life cycle capability management , ensuring compliance with IATA,AHM,ISO,DIN,CE and local standards ; along with statutory safety and GSE design requirements. Performing technical writing of ground support equipment (GSE) technical specifications based on the engineering knowledge, operational requirement, regulations and applicable technical & operational standards.
Liaising with both GSE manufacturers and other stakeholders (user departments, QAS Engineering Workshop) in order to determine final technical specification.
Collecting the relevant information and updated technical specifications of the Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Responsible for performing the technical evaluation of offers according to technical specifications and technical documentation package submitted by GSE manufacturers. Assist procurement for supplier selection process.
Responsible for performing Pre-delivery Inspections (PDI) and tests at manufacturers factory according to technical specifications of ground support equipment (GSE) and authorized to approve& sign PDI reports which allows supplier to ship to equipment to Doha.
To prepare and produce all test and on site commissioning documentation for Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Schedule, coordinate and execute testing and onsite commissioning activities with in line with the specified equipment technical specifications.
Monitoring progress and recording all test results, witnessing and signing final testing and acceptance of equipment and compilation of all documentation.
Arrange technical training to QAS Engineering workshop Supervisors and Technicians for all new purchased ground support equipment (GSE)
Identify GSE Fleet related compliance issues, areas for improvement, trends and best practice that require further investigation, follow up action, and manage the implementation.
Prepares scope of work for ground support equipment (GSE) refurbishment, modifications /improvement projects.
Lead and control Ground Support Equipment (GSE) refurbishment, modification /improvement projects.
Support safety investigations with technical and fault analysis. Inspect existing ground support equipment (GSE) advice on refurbishment or replacement of old and outdated GSE.
Ensure the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) technical documentation is up to date and available for the QAS Engineering workshop.
Manage the project introduction of GSE technical documentation digitalization and ensure that technical documentation remains relevant and up to date.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department by Department Managers or Head of the Department.
Identify and analyze proactively GSE Fleet data related compliance issues, areas for improvement, trends and best practice that require further investigation, follow up action, and manage the implementation for the improvement of the fleet reliability

Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (either Mechanical or Electrical)
Minimum 5 years relevant experience Preferred
Previous experience of working in an airport environment
Experience in an aviation environment

Strong background in mathematical skills, engineering
Proficient and well versed in Microsoft Office suite, particularly advanced Excel user
Proficient analytical skills
Proven professional oral and written communication capabilities, specifically with analytical reporting
Strong analytical abilities and demonstrate interest in data collection and analysis
Highly developed planning, analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication in organizational skills
Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet
Preferred- Oracle ERP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) module or asset management systems
Preferred- knowledge of AutoCAD software skill
Preferred- Understands various operational functions of units within engineering and other departments like ramp, baggage, cargo, customer services and optimises man resources
