will play a critical role in ensuring the commercial success of interior fit-out projects by accurately estimating costs for materials, labour, and equipment. The role involves reviewing tender documents, preparing cost estimates, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting the project team in developing competitive bids. The position requires strong technical knowledge, market awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tender & Document Review
Study and analyses tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
Prepare internal review documents for management approvals.
Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to clients for missing or unclear details.
Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to gather accurate project information.
Cost Estimation & Analysis
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for fit-out projects including materials, labour, and equipment.
Verify quantities and measurements to ensure accuracy in cost calculations.
Research and maintain knowledge of current market rates for materials, subcontractor services, and labour costs.
Assist in budgeting and value engineering to optimize project costs.
Supplier & Subcontractor Coordination
Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ) to suppliers and subcontractors.
Follow up and evaluate quotations based on technical and commercial criteria.
Prepare supplier and subcontractor price comparison sheets.
Recommend cost-effective options and collaborate on sourcing strategies.
Bid Preparation & Submission
Assist in preparing timely, accurate, and competitive bids.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and procurement to ensure alignment with project requirements and budgets.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards (QCS, QCDD), and sustainability requirements (GSAS/LEED).
Project Cost Tracking & Reporting
Monitor and track project costs during execution phases.
Prepare internal reports and provide timely updates on cost status and deviations.
Maintain organized records of quotations, estimates, and market reference rates.
Industry Awareness & Continuous Improvement
Stay updated on market trends, pricing, materials, and regulatory changes.
Contribute to improving estimation processes and cost control mechanisms.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
BSc in Quantity Surveying (QS), Higher Diploma in QS, or Bachelor's in Civil Engineering.
Experience
Minimum
3-5 years
of experience in interior fit-out estimation; Middle East experience preferred.
Certifications
Professional certifications in estimating (CPE/CEP) are advantageous.
Valid driving license is a plus.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labour rates, and fit-out processes.
Proficiency in estimating software and MS Excel (BOQs, quantity take-offs, cost sheets).
Ability to interpret technical drawings and tender documents.
Strong analytical skills for evaluating costs and preparing accurate estimates.
Knowledge of market pricing for materials, subcontractors, and labour.
