Position Overview:

The Fit-Out Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day execution and supervision of interior fit-out works at the project site. The role focuses on site coordination, quality control, and ensuring all fit-out activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards. This position reports to the Project Engineer / Project Manager and does not involve overall project planning or budgeting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:Site Execution & Supervision

Supervise and monitor daily site activities related to interior fit-out works. Ensure fit-out works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements. Coordinate on-site work sequences to ensure smooth and timely progress. Monitor workmanship and ensure required quality standards are consistently achieved.

Site Coordination

Coordinate with subcontractors, foremen, and site labor for effective execution of fit-out activities. Liaise with designers, consultants, and the Project Engineer for clarifications on drawings, details, and finishes. Assist in resolving minor site issues and escalate major concerns to the Project Engineer as required.

Technical Support (Site-Based)

Interpret interior fit-out drawings and provide technical guidance to site teams. Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions and report them promptly. Assist with material inspections and ensure all fit-out materials comply with approved specifications and samples.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, safety regulations, and site safety procedures. Conduct routine inspections to maintain fit-out quality and safety standards. Report unsafe practices and support corrective actions on site.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain daily site records, including work progress and manpower reports. Assist in preparing site-related documentation such as inspection requests, snag lists, and work completion reports. Provide regular updates on site progress to the Project Engineer.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Interior Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline. 1-3 years of site experience, preferably in interior fit-out projects. Basic understanding of fit-out construction methods, materials, and site procedures. Ability to read and interpret interior fit-out and construction drawings. Familiarity with AutoCAD is an advantage. Good communication and coordination skills.
