The MEP Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) aspects of construction projects from initiation to completion. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The MEP Project Manager will liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, plan, and manage MEP works from pre-construction through execution and handover.
Coordinate with consultants, architects, main contractors, and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance with project requirements.
Review MEP drawings, materials, and method statements for compliance with specifications and local authority regulations.
Develop and monitor project schedules for MEP works, ensuring alignment with overall construction timeline.
Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
Ensure proper integration between MEP and civil/architectural components.
Manage procurement process for MEP materials and equipment.
Track and control project costs, budgets, and resources for MEP scope.
Review and approve shop drawings, technical submittals, and O&M manuals.
Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management and clients.
Lead MEP site teams and supervise subcontractors' work.
Ensure all MEP works are carried out in compliance with health and safety standards.
Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
Minimum of 10 years experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in MEP project management.
Proven experience in managing MEP works in high-rise buildings, commercial complexes, or large-scale developments.
Strong knowledge of local authority requirements (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, Civil Defense).
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and project management software such as Primavera or MS Project.
