We are looking for a skilled Fit-Out Engineer with strong joinery and furniture experience to support both our production operations and on-site installations. This is a hybrid role involving technical coordination, site supervision, joinery oversight, procurement follow-up, and ensuring smooth execution of custom office furniture projects.
The ideal candidate understands joinery materials, shop drawings, furniture production flow, and has hands-on experience managing carpenters and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Execution & Supervision
Conduct site measurements, assessments, and installation planning.
Supervise installation teams for office furniture, workstations, cabinets, and custom joinery pieces.
Ensure installations match drawings, levels, alignment, finishing, and quality standards.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to resolve site issues.
Prepare daily site progress reports and snag lists.
2. Joinery & Furniture Coordination
Work closely with the joinery workshop to communicate technical requirements.
Review and interpret shop drawings, cutting lists, and specifications.
Ensure the joinery team clearly understands production expectations and timelines.
Monitor the quality of joinery works before dispatch to site.
Support the workshop in managing priorities and production scheduling.
3. Procurement & Material Management
Prepare material take-offs from drawings (MDF, laminate, veneer, hardware, fittings, accessories).
Coordinate with suppliers for pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
Follow up on deliveries to factory and site; ensure correct materials arrive on time.
Track consumption and ensure minimal wastage.
4. Technical & Operational Support
Verify dimensions and ensure technical compatibility of all furniture components.
Coordinate with design team for revisions/clarifications in shop drawings.
Assist in planning project timelines and reporting progress to management.
Maintain documentation, checklists, and installation guidelines.
Support production and site teams with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
5. Team Coordination
Supervise carpenters, installers, and helpers on site.
Ensure safety and quality procedures are followed.
Train and guide team members to improve execution standards.
RequirementsExperience
2-5 years of experience in Fit-Out + Joinery/Furniture projects
(mandatory).
Strong background in custom-made furniture, office workstations, joinery production, or interior fit-out.
Experience handling both workshop and site environments.
UAE experience preferred.
Technical Skills
Ability to read and interpret joinery/furniture shop drawings.
Understanding of MDF, plywood, laminates, veneer, hardware fittings, edge banding, etc.
Knowledge of joinery production flow and installation processes.
Strong measurement, alignment, and finishing inspection skills.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Detail-oriented and committed to high-quality execution.
Other Requirements
UAE Driving License preferred.
Must be comfortable traveling between factory and site as required.
Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
