The job purpose of a firefighter & first aider is to protect life, property, and the environment by responding to

emergency situations involving fires, accidents, hazardous materials, and other incidents. As a firefighter

responsible for extinguishing fires, rescuing individuals in danger, conducting fire prevention activities, and

educating about fire safety. As first aider to provide immediate medical assistance to individuals who are injured

or experiencing a medical emergency. First aiders are trained to assess the situation, administer basic medical

treatments such as CPR, bandaging wounds, and immobilizing injuries, and to stabilize the patient until

professional medical help arrives.

• Respond promptly to emergency calls, including fires, accidents, medical emergencies, and hazardous material incidents.
• Assess the situation upon arrival and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of individuals and property.
• Extinguish fires using firefighting equipment such as fire trucks, fire hoses, and fire extinguishers.
• Provide immediate medical care to individuals injured in emergencies, including administering CPR, controlling bleeding, and stabilizing injuries.
• Assess the severity of injuries and determine the need for additional medical intervention or transportation to healthcare facilities.
• Identify and mitigate hazards in the environment to prevent further injury or damage, such as securing hazardous materials or controlling leaking fluids.
• Educate the team about fire safety practices, first aid techniques, and emergency preparedness through practical demonstrations, and presentations.
• Promote awareness of fire hazards, prevention methods, and the importance of early medical intervention in emergencies.
• Inspect, maintain, and test firefighting and medical equipment regularly to ensure functionality and readiness for emergency response.
• Report any equipment defects or malfunctions and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
• Work closely with other firefighters and emergency services personnel to coordinate response efforts and provide seamless care to patients.
• Communicate effectively with team members and follow established protocols and procedures during emergency operations.
• Maintain first aid items inventory.
• Participate and help in preparation of mock scenarios as advised by QHSE Manager.
• Help in issuing safety certificates related to permits/ perform inspections before, during and after the completion of the job.
