The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed design drawings, as-built documentation, and coordination layouts for Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, and Life Safety Systems. The ideal candidate must have a thorough understanding of fire safety engineering principles, system layout requirements, and project documentation related to approval and implementation stages.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed
Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, and Life Safety System drawings
including layouts, schematics, flow diagrams, riser diagrams, and single-line diagrams.
Develop shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings in compliance with
UAE Civil Defense requirements, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, NFPA standards, and project specifications
.
Review and interpret engineering documents, BOQs, tender drawings, and technical specifications to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Coordinate drawings with
architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and ELV disciplines
to avoid design conflicts and ensure proper installation flow.
Prepare hydraulic calculations, pump room layout drawings, sprinkler zoning, fire pump sizing details, and fire extinguisher placement plans as per code requirements.
Ensure that all submission drawings meet the standards of UAE Civil Defense authorities and are aligned with the correct submission format.
Ensure proper annotation, layering guidelines, technical symbols, and drawing standards as per industry and authority requirements.
Support the design and engineering team in technical documentation, drawing revisions, and submittals during project execution.
Maintain an organized filing system for drawings, revisions, approvals, and correspondence.
Participate in technical meetings when required to clarify design elements or compliance requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong proficiency in
AutoCAD
(2D & preferably 3D), and knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
Knowledgeable in UAE Fire and Life Safety Code, NFPA Standards (especially NFPA 13, 14, 20, 25, 72), and AHJ/Civil Defense requirements.
Ability to produce precise, clearly annotated, and regulation-compliant Fire Protection drawings.
Strong attention to detail, technical documentation accuracy, and revision control management.
Strong communication and coordination abilities with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, or related technical field.
Minimum
2-5 years relevant drafting experience
in Fire Protection systems within the UAE.
Demonstrated experience with projects requiring UAE Civil Defense approvals.
Familiarity with submission platforms and documentation standards used by UAE Civil Defense authorities.
