Coordinates the maintenance, repair and replacement of Fire Department facilities and equipment. Assesses facility maintenance and repair issues and recommends repairs and replacements, as required. Coordinates preventive maintenance schedules. Researches, determines and proposes scope of work for project and prepares requests for proposals (RFPs) and bid documents. Selects contractors; schedules, oversees and inspects the work of contractors. Reviews and approves estimates for maintenance services, remodeling work and special projects. Consults various customers, including City staff, contractors, developers, and local utility companies to ensure requirements for new installations and modifications to existing facilities are met. Oversees the development of annual maintenance work plans and corresponding schedules for staff deployment and contracted services. Coordinates annual emergency equipment safety testing. Provides for the inspection, organization and inventory management of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the Fire Department. Inspects all Fire Department facilities to identify potential hazards and safety issues. Ensures compliance with regulatory safety standards. Evaluates and analyzes unit operations. Conducts assessments of maintenance services and customer satisfaction levels and makes recommendations for improvements and enhancements. Participates in the development and preparation of assigned project and program budgets. Prepares cost estimates for materials and labor and submits requisitions for equipment, materials and supplies. Maintains records of time, materials and equipment used. Reviews invoices, monitors expenditures and makes budget recommendations. Collects, compiles and enters data into existing maintenance databases, tracks equipment expenditures and to plans for future needs. Coordinates with the City\'s Procurement services for equipment and supplies purchases? creates and reviews purchase orders? ensures compliance with City\'s purchasing policies and procedures. Delivers supplies to various Fire Department facilities Follows and enforces applicable safety rules and regulations. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
