Job Summary:

The Fire Fighting Technician is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and operation of fire safety systems and equipment to ensure a safe working environment. The role involves responding to fire emergencies, performing routine checks, and supporting the overall fire safety program.

Key Responsibilities:

Fire Safety Equipment Maintenance:

Inspect, test, and maintain fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, sprinklers, and other firefighting equipment. Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition and compliant with local safety regulations.

Emergency Response:

Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergencies. Assist in fire evacuation procedures and use firefighting equipment effectively.

Inspections and Reporting:

Conduct regular checks of fire alarm systems and emergency exits. Maintain records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities. Report any defects or hazards immediately to the supervisor.

Training and Drills:

Participate in fire drills and safety training programs. Educate staff on the proper use of fire safety equipment and emergency procedures.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all fire safety practices comply with local regulations and company policies. Advise management on potential risks and fire prevention measures.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in fire safety is preferred. Knowledge of fire safety systems, equipment, and emergency procedures. Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies. Physical fitness to handle firefighting equipment and emergencies.
