FIRE FIGHTING SUPERVISOR - Mechanical Projects
Job Summary:
The Fire Fighting Supervisor for Mechanical Projects oversees the installation and maintenance of water-based fire suppression systems, such as sprinklers, standpipes, and pumps. This role focuses on the mechanical aspects of fire protection, ensuring systems are installed correctly and function as designed.
Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the installation of fire sprinkler systems, pipes, fittings, valves, and hangers according to design drawings.
• Manage a team of pipefitters and helpers on construction sites.
• Coordinate work schedules with the general contractor and other mechanical trades (plumbing, HVAC).
• Perform hydraulic calculations to verify system design adequacy.
• Oversee pressure tests, inspections, and final acceptance tests of systems with AHJs.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and other applicable standards.
• Monitor inventory of materials and tools.
• Conduct site safety meetings and enforce safe work practices, especially for hot work and working at heights.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; NICET certification in Water-Based Systems highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fire sprinkler/pipefitting installation, with 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Thorough understanding of sprinkler system design and hydraulic calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, architectural, and shop drawings.
• Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques and tools.
• Excellent organizational and team management skills.
