Job Purpose:

The Finishing Foreman is responsible for overseeing all finishing works on construction projects, ensuring high-quality execution of interior and exterior finishes such as plastering, painting, tiling, ceiling, carpentry, and final detailing. They ensure that the work meets design specifications, quality standards, and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:1. Supervision and Coordination

Supervise and manage finishing trades and subcontractors (e.g., painters, carpenters, tilers, etc.). Coordinate daily activities to ensure smooth progress of finishing works. Allocate tasks and monitor workforce performance.

2. Quality Assurance

Ensure all finishing works meet project specifications, drawings, and quality standards. Perform regular inspections and snagging to identify defects and rectify issues. Ensure a high level of attention to detail in all finishes.

3. Planning and Scheduling

Assist in planning finishing works according to the overall project timeline. Monitor and report progress to the site engineer or project manager. Ensure timely completion of works to meet handover deadlines.

4. Materials and Tools

Ensure availability and proper use of finishing materials, tools, and equipment. Check materials on site for compliance with required standards. Minimize waste and prevent damage or misuse of materials.

5. Health and Safety

Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE usage. Identify and report safety hazards on site. Conduct toolbox talks and promote a safety-first culture.

6. Communication

Liaise with engineers, architects, designers, and clients for finishing details and approvals. Provide daily updates and reports to the site manager or construction manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or Technical Certificate in Civil Engineering or relevant trade Minimum 5+ years experience in finishing works in construction (especially high-end projects) Strong knowledge of interior and exterior finishes Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications Leadership and team management skills Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Good communication and reporting skills

Working Conditions:

Site-based role; must be able to work outdoors and indoors May involve working long hours and weekends as project deadlines require
