Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finishing Carpenter to join our renovation and fit-out team. The Finishing Carpenter will be responsible for executing high-quality finishing works such as installing doors, cabinetry, trim, skirting, wardrobes, kitchens, wall panels, and other custom woodwork. The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and experience in residential or commercial interior fit-outs.

Key Responsibilities:

Carpentry & Finishing Work:

Install doors, door frames, architraves, skirting, moldings, cabinetry, wardrobes, vanities, kitchen units, and decorative woodwork.

Cut, shape, and assemble wood or wood-based materials with precision and efficiency.

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders accurately.

Measure and mark cutting lines using levels, squares, and measuring tools.

Sand, stain, polish, and finish wood surfaces to achieve desired texture and appearance.

Install hardware such as hinges, handles, locks, and drawer runners.

Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and secure fixing of all carpentry elements.

Site Work & Coordination:

Work closely with designers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure high-quality execution of carpentry works.

Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Conduct on-site measurements and make minor adjustments as needed.

Perform touch-ups, repairs, and refinishing work as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience (3+ years) as a finishing carpenter in home renovation or interior fit-out projects.

Proficient in using carpentry tools, machines, and materials.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Skilled in working with various materials: MDF, plywood, hardwood, laminates, veneers, etc.

Excellent attention to detail and finishing quality.

Strong knowledge of installation techniques and joinery systems.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor and operate power tools safely.
